#hashtag #murder

Ever seen people using # hashtags for writing their whole stories, I have seen many people on various Social Media platforms, using hashtags before every word of their whole sentence and literally kill the main purpose of hashtag , so thought of passing a little bit of information I have about “hashtags”.

Hashtag is simply a word or phrase preceded by a hash mark (#), used within a message to identify a keyword or topic of interest and facilitate a search for it. Whenever a user adds a hashtag to their post, it’s able to be indexed by the social network and becomes easily searchable to users. It makes it possible for others to easily find messages with a specific theme or content, it is a very effective tool if used correctly. If you start using a correct hashtag, you will find many people getting associated with it or are already using the same hashtag and we get included in it. It acts as highlighter.

For example whenever I post my pictures with my daughter, I always mention #motherdaughterlove #mydaughtermylife, I also made a hashtag of my daughter and her bestie named #RuhIsh , whenever I post their pic together , I mention it and when you go to the Instagram and type #Ruhish, you get this:

The hashtag may contain letters, digits, and underscores. Searching for that hashtag will yield each message that has been tagged with it. For example, on the photo-sharing service Instagram, the hashtag #sunshine allows users to find all the posts that have been tagged using that hashtag. Hashtags are not case-sensitive, can be inserted anywhere within a text, often at the beginning or the end, but also within the text, usually as a word.

Hope this article was helpful!!

Happy Hashtagging!!
