3/7 Habits of Highly Effective People

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Habit 3 – Put First Things First

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a self-improvement book, which emphasizes our perceptions about everything around us and how it affects a situation, a person, and how we must be open to change them.

A Brief Summary:

It starts with a very interesting exercise which helps you evaluate yourself. Habit 3 is a personal fruit and a practical fulfillment of Habits 1 and 2.

In habit 3 we deal with many of the questions addressed in the field of life and time management. Organize and execute around priorities. That phrase represents the evolution of three generations of time management theory, and how to best do it is the focus of a wide variety of approaches and materials.

It talks about Quadrants and how we experience that we cannot move to another quadrants ignoring important activities of other quadrants. To make each quadrant work for you , you have to work on each of them proactively.

You will understand what it takes to say NO if you don’t have a bigger yes to replace it. It is only when you have the self-awareness to examine your program and the imagination to create a new principle-centered program for you, then you can confidently say no to things and people.

Key Lessons:

1.) Organising work/goals/tasks.

2.) Time management

3.) Commit yourself and setup a regular time to finish your tasks.

I will share the next effective habit soon.

Mental Health Awareness Series- Humanity ki Chain – Episode -4- Ms. Deepika Mishra

Welcome to the fourth Episode of Humanity ki chain, Mental Health Awareness Series, with the fourth guest Ms. Deepika Mishra

In today’s episode we discussed how we can help each other by simply being present and being in life, helping each other, looking out for each other, that’s what humanity is all about, isn’t it? 🙂

The stigma attached to mental illness is so acute that we have had a historically ‘hush-hush’ attitude towards it. Our culture has categorically discouraged emotional sharing and outbursts.

This Mental Health Awareness Series is a small attempt from my side to spread some mental health awareness and enable people to talk. The more we talk about it, the more we will be able to break the stigmas attached to it.

Mental Health is as important as Physical Health and it is not possible to drive a massive change alone, so let’s join together and spread some positivity.

Find Time For Little Things In Life

Find time for little things in life

We often take things for granted; we are such ignorant species that we do not even consciously breath because it is an ongoing process happening effortlessly. It has become our basic trait to take things for granted, expect a lot and reciprocate less.

Appreciate the little things in your life as they are many.

You just need to stop and look around, take time to smell the roses, take time to look up to the sky, take time to answer endless questions of a toddler, take time to smell the rain, take time for the people when they are still alive and with you, as you never know when that moment will become a memory.

A child comes to you, out of curiosity asks several questions to you, you are tired of all your work and hectic day but that child needs answers to his questions, answer him, he needs you at this moment may be a few years later he would be able to find out all the answers from Google or maybe somewhere else, then you might miss the question-answer session with your little one.

A mother, a wife cooks for you, perhaps this is the best cooking she could offer, but we hardly appreciate her, we hardly reciprocate her by saying few words which could lift her, thinking that it’s her daily job we simply eat and forget about it.

There are many occasions when the lady of the house prepares so many dishes just for the family members to relish and enjoy, in return if we just give her few words of appreciation her day will be made and she might end up serving you more mouth-watering delicacies, not a bad deal.

A friend needs to meet your wants to speak but you are too tied up with the work that you keep on postponing the meeting. But sometimes you need to look around, everything else can wait, but our near and dear ones cannot wait for you for lifetime, if they need your love, they need it now, if they need your attention they need it now, because now is all we know and now is all we have, who knows the next moment, nobody knows but still we all live for that next moment, next day and keep postponing everything, overlooking what present has in store for us.

Life would become easy for others and for self if we simply try to focus on what really matters, be grateful for what we already have in abundance.

We should also take time for ourselves, in our daily routine, we work, we perform all our duties, but we forget to live, we forget to rejoice the beauty of life, we fail to appreciate what present moment has for us.

We just run behind money, fame, and strategies for a better tomorrow, practically it is also needed but sometimes we end up being so practical that we break-lose many emotional chords attached to us.

A good life is a collection of all the happy moments- try to get some and try to give some and in between try to live more and love more.
