The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Habit 7 – Renewal – Sharpen the saw
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a self-improvement book, which emphasizes our perceptions about everything around us and how it affects a situation, a person, and how we must be open to change them.
So what did we learn about the book? The importance of understanding the difference between principles and values. You can start following all the 7 habits by starting to follow one habit and it will lead to other 6 habits. It is like a hologram where the whole world is contained in the part and the part is contained in the whole.

A Brief Summary:
Based on the principles of balanced self-renewal, habit 7 is about taking time to sharpen the saw. It surrounds the other habits of the seven habits paradigm because it is the habit that makes all the others possible.
Habit 7 talks about the dimensions of renewal. It is preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have, YOU. It is like renewing four dimensions of nature, physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional/social.
And “Sharpen the saw” in this habit exactly refers to exercising all four dimensions consistently in a balanced way.
It talks about scripting others as most people are a function of the social mirror, scripted by the opinions, the perceptions, the paradigms of the people around them.
The self-renewal process must include balanced renewal in all four dimensions of our nature, if we neglect one area it negatively impacts the rest.
Key Lessons:
1.) Refining self.
2.) Evaluating your own performances and mindset.
3.) Helps to identify the areas with scope of improvement.
4.) Urges to be result-oriented in a balanced way
So this was a brief about habit 7 and no matter how many times I read these habits, I find them new all the time based on the experiences and learnings they share.
I hope through this short review series I was able to put some productive messages across. I will come up with the next series of short reviews soon.
Take care.
Much love and gratitude
